A member asked:

My.right eyelid is swollen and a bit painful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can evaluate: Such symptoms may reflect an infection in the eye area, but other causes are possible. Eyelids do swell up when there is a stye in the eyelid, or when there is an insect bite. Allergic reactions can swell up eyelids, but usually without causing pain. One's primary care doctor can evaluate to see if medication is needed. If symptoms are more severe, an ophthalmologist or the ER can evaluate.
