A member asked:

Hi dear doctors, i need advice on the daily/weekly/ monthly dosage of required vitamin d to take in a dark country to keep my vitamin d balanced?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on diet: A dark country presumably means a time of year with little sunlight. Some people get plenty of dietary vitamin D (one can look up his dietary amounts, noting fortified vs. unfortified foods). For daily supplements, 400iu or 10mcg is recommended, but more if one started out deficient.
