No worries: Fever, defined as a temperature 100.4 degrees or higher in infants, is very common. Infants are constantly being introduced to new viruses for the first time so they mount quite an inflammatory reaction, which can include fever. I always tell parents to treat the symptoms and not necessarily the number. If he is very cranky, give Tylenol, but no Motrin until 6 months of age!
