Left side chest pain on and off for over a week w/back pain, sometimes stabbing, mostly dull. was woken up laying on back with dull chest pain and rapid heart beat. am currently being treated for reflux, gi issue and hyperthyroid. cause for concern?

Time to see a doctor: A person in her 40's with intermittent chest pain and a new fast heart rate are signs to talk with her doctor now or go to the ER. She should not drive herself (have someone else drive, or use ambulance). If it turns out not to be heart angina, abnormal rhythm, myocarditis, anxiety attack symptoms, a collapsed lung, or pneumonia, the ER is still the safest place to go for chest pain evaluation.
