Some thoughts...: An ear that feels strange for whatever reason, such as ringing (tinnitus), and doesn't normalize in a day or two, should be checked by one's primary care doctor. The primary care doctor may refer to an ENT specialist if needed. There may be excess wax, ear fluid behind the eardrum, a middle ear infection, inner ear inflammation, etc... Sudden adult hearing loss may need urgent treatment.
