Missing info: The label is somewhat vague & may represent several different issues. There is also no information on what was done after that label was made. Any surgery ? Was the kid a premi ? Are there other medical facts in play ? A kid born at term should sit well at 8 months. Failure to do so suggests motor delay but does not define intellect. An eval by a pediatrician is warranted.

Virtual consult : A virtual HealthTap consultation may provide additional information for you and your pediatrician. A Pediatric Neurologist is advised and a repeat scan of the brain. Metabolic screening is also advised and a review of his newborn screening panel if performed at birth.
