Hydrocephalus: You may be describing hydrocephalus, a neurologic condition when the fluid of the brain and spinal canal (CSF) fills up abnormally large spaces in the brain (ventricles), creating pressure on the brain tissue. Some people are born with it (congenital) as a result of genetic or developmental defect. Others develop it later from injury or disease. The condition is often treated surgically.
