May not be possible: It may not be possible to make that differentiation. Your best bet would be to have the depression treated - if your physician feels that your depression has been well treated and your back pain resolves, then the back pain may be attributed to depression. Otherwise, if you are early post menopause, that may be the cause. If your symptoms are severe, see a spine specialist for further evaluation.
