i like to hike and usually after 6 or 7 miles the bottom right corner of my right knee (how i'm looking at it) will swell a bit. walking downhill is painful like it doesn't want to bend. ?

Welcome to: adulthood: sound like overuse tendinitis or osteoarthritis. I suggest an orthopedic evaluation and hold off on the long hiking for at least 4-6 weeks. If you are not allergic to NSAIDS I suggest Aleve as needed or Advil as directed.
