Numbing pain: May be nerve damage. Could be due to impacted wisdom tooth. Could be due to infection. Could be due to lesion putting pressure on the nerve. Please see your Dentist to begin the diagnostic process. Referral to a specialist Oral Surgeon is probably in order. Progressive nerve damage can be come permanent, infections can spread. Please don't put off being evaluated.

Possibly: What you want and what you need may be two different things. See a local oral surgeon for a consultation.
