A member asked:

Can you get a epidural for hysteroscopy to remove a small endometrial polyp? if so does it work well for pain? or is the best option general anesthesia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes you could but...: You could get an epidural if you and your surgical team want to..., but since most hysteroscopic removals of endometrial polyp are rather simple minor ambulatory procedures which may take 15 to 20 minutes and the post op pain/discomfort is usually manageable with various analgesics, they are preferably performed under simple IV sedation and/or local anesthesia.
