Comfort care: The available cough/cold preparations actually have little if any benefit to kids under 6 yrs. The do give you something to do & some thicken secretions making things worse. Low grade fever is part of natural healing & can be ignored or treated as you wish. Milk is fine to use. The main treatment is based on maintaining good nutrition & fluid balance.
