Some basics: Your eye can become red from a number of triggering agents. Airborne pollen can give you itchy red eyes. Dust/smoke or other foreign material can trigger it. Various viruses or bacteria can also overcome the eyes self healing properties. A visit to your primary doc with history review & exam may find the source. If they feel your case needs advanced study they could send you to an ophthalmologist.
