A member asked:

I have a transvaginal ultrasound scheduled cycle day 12. my period just ended but i was told to schedule it a week after my period ended. my dr is following up on my uterine polyp. will my uterus be thin enough to see it if my polyp is still there ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Uterine polyp ?'s: In the preovulatory phase of your cycle, the polyp should be detected by a trans-vaginal U/S. Sometimes polyps can degenerate spontaneously. Most uterine polyps do not cause serious problems, but if bleeding occurs not related to a menstrual event, your gyn physician may elect to perform an office procedure to remove the polyp.
