Let me explain: Certain symptoms such as unilateral visual loss bring to mind optic neuritis, and an MRI might show findings c/w a diagnosis. But many neurological conditions can mimic ms, and if this is concern, start with a neurological history and exam. The doctor will then suggest additional approaches to pin down the diagnosis. The process can be time and money consuming, and not productive in some cases.
