A member asked:

What would be the consequences of extracting all four top teeth due to decay, in a two year old baby? will she have any major issues until her permanent teeth emerge?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cosequences: Decayed front baby teeth, I assume from bottle syndrome coupled with not having child examined by Dentist at 1st b'day, can damage underlying permanent teeth. Tooth loss can adversely affect both speech and swallowing. Baby teeth act as spacers for, and guides for, permanent teeth. Imperative that your child be under care of Pedodontist, a pediatric Dental Specialist. Child needs "Pedi-Partial."
