Hello my daughter is 7 years old and in gr 2, in my opinion she has been making excuses not to go to school, in some cases she is genuinely sick, should i take her to a psychologist? her body is now reacting to her fear, what should i do?

Worth a try: Often school refusal is more about not missing what goes on at home rather than fear of school. There are also things at school that could be triggering her. It sometimes takes a skilled person to bring out the root cause of this behavior. The longer the problem lasts the worse it will get.

Call school : The school counselor can help kids understand what they are bothered by or missing &support her while she adjusts to school. If that is not helpful enough definitely seek help from PCP who after good exam and rule out of medical concerns can refer you to a counselor or psychiatrist for more support and possible treatment. Support her in understandinthe difficulty of change, but school is her job.
