Food poisoning: Common causes for food poisoning are Staph organisms which cause vomiting withing a few hours (food handlers infection) to more common Salmonella and like bacteria which can start in 4 to 8 hours. Typically food poisoning is something that comes on in hours. Fortunately most pass in hours too.
