Week: Inflamation can improve over a week or so but the dialted vein (hemorrhoid) does not disappear. It may become inflamed again. It can gradually get worse until u opt for excision, or banding, or radio frequencyr or other option to remove the problem vein. That is the only definitive treatment. Still, if inflamation improves + diet/lifestyle changes help limit future flareups u dont need surgery.

Care of hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids, a dilation/swelling of venous tissue around rectum. Non operative treatment is recommended, a bowel regimen (fiber, stool softners, laxatives to goal of 2 soft bowel movements daily) local salves (prep h, desitin, (zinc oxide diaper cream) anti fungal) and hygiene (shower, hair dryer area daily). Surgery only if above fails. Post surgery recovery is several weeks.
