Not particularly: The white debris is likely just dead tissue that will shed over time. You are not considered contagious after you have been on a penicillin based antibiotic for at least 24 hrs. If one tonsil seems excessively swollen compared to the other contact your doc. Occasionally people will get an abscess in the tonsil that needs to be drained.
