I last had a gallbladder attack (i think thats what its called) 4 months ago and it happened again yesterday. vomiting, nausea and a terrible pain on right side of my chest. is my only option to go for operation? no meds?

Gall bladder: Have you had an ultrasound of the gall bladder that showed gall stones? The first step is to make a definitive diagnosis. Some people with gall bladder pathology get by with a very low fat diet. Medications don't prevent attacks. A general surgeon is best to evaluate and advise you.
