Urban Myth: In an amalgam filling the mercury is molecularly bound to the silver and other metals. If it was problematic, wouldn't all Dentists be sick. If it was problematic every person with an amalgam filling would be sick. Of the thousands of people you have met over your lifetime, how many have had mercury poisoning?
