No test needed: Mercury poisoning does not occur from mercury amalgam dental fillings. It's an urban myth. Don't be taken in by online ads for such testing.

Urban Myth: In an amalgam filling the mercury is molecularly bound to the silver and other metals. If it was problematic, wouldn't all Dentists be sick. If it was problematic every person with an amalgam filling would be sick. Of the thousands of people you have met over your lifetime, how many have had mercury poisoning?

A 36-year-old member asked:
Could amalgam in dental fillings cause mercury poisoning?

Nope: If so, most of the world's population would have died off by now.. So many silver fillings have been placed in the last 150 years, a problem with their use would have manifested itself a long, long, long time ago.
