Don't consume it!: Improperly home-canned, preserved or fermented foods provide the right conditions for botulinum toxin. Examples of foods that have been contaminated are: chopped garlic in oil, canned cheese sauce & canned tomatoes. Botulinism is not likely with almond butter but contamination could occur with other toxic agents such as Listeria monocytogenes or Salmonella. So don't consume the almond butter!
