Botulism: Botulism is caused by Clostridium botulinum which is and anaerobic bactria that needs a closed moist space to grow so improperly canned fruits, vegetables and smoke fish common source. Raw Garlic not likely. Garlic storage in cool place can be for weeks. However when change in textrure and garlic gets mushy get rid of. The production of Garlic oil associated with botulism.
