A member asked:

My father 56 had blood in his stool and urinary tract infection and high fever a week back, now the bleeding have stopped and fever is gone after antibiotics, but the colour of stool is black.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood in stool: The black color of the stool indicates that there was/is in fact bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract. I hope your father is continuing to see a MD and the source of the bleeding has been identified and properly treated.
