Bleeding disorder: This does not sound like a normal kind of infection to me. These children need to have blood work and evaluation asap. Sounds like some sort of clotting disorder, perhaps familial.

See doctor!: You really should go see your doctor this could be an infection or something more serious. The blood in the stool and the petechiae could certainly indicate problems with blood cell lines or immune system.
