No: You don't die with removal of the adrenal glands but the hormones it produces are essential for life, so you will need to take hormone replacement for life. You should have a really good reason why the adrenal should be removed.

Yes: Removal of the adrenal glands, untreated, would lead to death. Adrenal hormone replacement would prevent this.
