Viral or resistant: The most likely cause of respiratory infection is related to a viral illness. The course usually varies, but if it lingers, please follow up with your PCP. Another consideration is to try another antibiotic. Are you having a fever? producing phlegm? If so, you may have a lower respiratory tract infection such as bronchitis or pneumonia.
