A member asked:

Prescribed ofloxacin, leaflet says caution in bradycardia. my hr goes to 50 at rest and the qtc is 395 at that rate, safe to take or not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bradycardia: You have definite bradycardia and my advice is to abstain from that family of antibiotics regardless of the corrected qt interval of .395 as fluoroquinalone antibiotics can further prolong the qt interval even if its less common with ofloxacin. Ask your MD for an alternative antibiotic.
