A member asked:

Age 57 female and 5 years postmenopausal . transvag.ultrasound shows endometrial thickening 7mm.biopsy? dr wants one.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Please, do so: A thickened endometrium in a post menopausal woman can denote everything from endometrial hyperplasia (extra growth) to endometrial cancer. If it is the latter, this is one of the most survivable cancers (90+%) when identified early on. An endometrial biopsy will make a tissue (pathological) determination of the problem and initiate appropriate Rx. by the GYN MD.
