A member asked:

Postmenapausal bleeding after 16 years and transvaginal ultrasound fails to locate one ovary?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PMP bleeding: The ovaries after menopause shrink to the size of what we call streak ovaries and often times aren't visible on ultrasound or CT scan. While many women with menopausal bleeding just have atrophy, you have to treat it as endometrial cancer until proven otherwise. An endometrial biopsy or D&C is warranted here.
