My daughter had grommets put in on friday, she has been coughing every night. is this normal and if so how long does it normally last?

Missing data: The grommets likely have nothing to do with the cough. You did not describe how this was done. If she was put to sleep using common gas anesthesia it would not be unusual for her to have a cough for a while after the procedure. It passes in time.
