Fatty liver: There is a difference. Fatty liver develops because of some process which is metabolically encouraging your liver to produce fat. Excess alcohol and NASH are two common conditions to cause that. Fibrous fat develops because the fatty tissue gets inflamed and forms fibrous or scar tissue. This is the mechanism of cirrhosis.
