Is it normal to see a red vein in the back of your throat? sometimes there are little bumps but today just a long red streak/vein, and its been there a while. i have fatty liver. would this be different from varices?

The back of the throat has many blood vessels. If you're not experiencing any throat symptoms, there is no concern. If you still have concerns, have a throat examination by your physician or an ENT specialist.
