Heart: Typical heart problems are associated with some degree of atherosclerosis. This causes changes to the lining of the endothlium of the blood vessels that activates platelets and makes them want to clot. Low dose aspirin decreases platelets "stickiness" and they are less likely to clot and this improves blood flow.
