Misunderstanding : I think you don't understand reflux, the med or its influence on a cough. The med can help reduce acid & associated pain, but it does not stop reflux. Reflux occurs when stomach contents roll back up the swallow tube & tiny amounts may enter your airway/lungs & trigger a chronic cough. Consuming caffeine, nicotine, carbonation & laying down after meals increases reflux.
