My brother has asthma and is having trouble breathing while trying to sleep. would it be ok for him to take nasal spray that expired late last year?

?????: Expired usually just means it is likely to be less effective after that date. Why a nasal spray would help a breathing problem is a bit confusing. People just open their mouth before/ during sleep to augment the nasal airway. If the kid is having true breathing issues asthma meds would be more appropriate.
