My husband and i are both struggling with anxiety, depression, insomnia, weight gain, lack of motivation, fatigue etc. we have some ok days but mostly feel overwhelmed by all this. some suggest anti-depressants but we're nervous of them. please help?

Husband & Wife: The list of symptoms you mention indicate the need for both of you to see your doctor and perhaps a mental health professional after that. Please support one another but each get well on your own. If not, you will give one another excuses not to make progress when the other doesn't eat, exercise, or whatever changes are recommended. Many approaches: There are many natural treatments for depression, including counseling, healthy diet,exercise,fish oil, B complex, vit. D, 5-HTP and SAMe, herbs like St. John's wort, rhodiola and curcumin, homeopathic medicines & magnetic therapy. Treatment is best individualized. If one is hypothyroid then thyroid hormone helps. If one is allergic to gluten then avoid it, etc. I advise seeing an integrative doc.
