Scar tissue: and other post surgical changes following lumpectomy can evolve over a year or two, and sometimes longer. If you have a new lump in the same region it could be scar tissue, but not necessarily. It needs to be fully evaluated. Besides ultrasound, mammography and possibly MRI could be needed.
