A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endometriosis ?: Endometriosis may be controlled by taking consecutive packs of low dose oral contraceptives (without breaking for placebo pills). Surgery to remove the uterus and ovaries will cause menopause, and is not w/o risk. Oral bcp's can be used in most women until menopause (average age about 54) and ease the transition between continued menstrual pain and true menopause.
