A member asked:

Is it safe to give cows milk for one year baby?or do we need to wait for another six months?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes...but: Bovine milk is an easy source of calcium/fat/protein that can be given at a year of age. It should be limited to 16-24 oz/d because in excess it can cause microscopic bleeding in the human gut ( its designed for calves) that can lead to anemia. Boiling prior to use softens the protein so this does not happen but is not needed if kept under the 24 oz limit.
