When are results from a hida scan of gallbladder available? can they see whats going on in the moment?

Yes: Typically when you have a HIDA scan they give the dye and then at the end inject CCK to stimulate the gallbladder. This does give real time information, and most people will reproduce there pain with CCK when it is given.

The technologist: can see what is going on in the moment to make sure the scan is complete and of sufficient diagnostic quality, but the technologist can't render the interpretation. After the scan is complete, it is typically made available to the radiologist for interpretation. How quickly the radiologist interprets the scan varies by facility and individual practice. It could be minutes, hours, or more.
