A member asked:

My son was born with an ear tag. a ultrasound was done in his kidneys to see if this is due to a kidney issue or just a growth. the doctor told us that it is just a tag and can be removed. can a ent or dermatologist remove the tag?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on the tag: Some of these dangle from a thin stalk & may fall off. Some actually have cartilage inside & require surgical removal by anyone willing to do so. I usually send the kid to a plastic surgeon or dermatologist . Local providers vary in their interest so your doc may be a good source for this referral.
