Maybe: In many causes an enlarged liver is accompanied by abnormal liver function tests, sometimes not. In addition to fatty infiltration of the liver, hepatomegaly (enlarged liver) is also caused by alcoholic liver disease, various viral hepatitis infections, genetic diseases (Hemochromatosis, Wilson's disease), normal and abnormal anatomic variations, infections, toxins, cancer, etc. Take step by step.

Ultrasound on the liver to find what? My father had some bloodwork done and it showed he had some elevated liver functions. The doctor has ordered an ultrasound of his liver and i was wondering what sort of things they're looking for.
My liver enzymes are high for years. Sometimes the number goes down but goes high again. Blood tests for all other liver disease are done. ultrasound and fibroscan also done. Everything is normal The doctor says. What is causing abnormal enzymes?
