A member asked:

Does estrace oral significantly increase the risk of cancer in a 55-year-old woman?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Estrace ?'s : Any estrogen taken orally or with suppositories can increase the statistical risk of cancer after menopause, but the risk is minimal. If the "55 yo woman" is taking only estrace, and has gone through actual menopause, periodic progesterone added at intervals will reduce the risk of uterine cancer, but some studies suggest breast cancer risk is also enhanced.
