My dad has stage 4 lung cancer.he is taking vitamins, including 1 "apricot power" 500mg amygdalin a day.he is coughing up blood, is this normal, safe?

Oncologist: Your father should be treated by a cancer specialist, or what is called an Oncologist, immediately! His best chances for effective treatment which may improve his quality of life will be if he sees an Oncologist. He should also eat a lot of fruit & veggies. Amygdalin (Laetrile) has not been shown by research to treat or prevent cancer & may be associated with serious adverse effects. Best of luck!
