Very Minor Risk: Near the sinus cavity in not in the sinus cavity. All tooth extractions are minor surgery (some are more than that) and it must be expected that post operative complications can occur. If your general dentist is concerned about the procedure, then you should be treated by an oral surgeon.

Protoplasm: The saying is, "There's nothing like young protoplasm." The older you get, the greater the complication risks. Third molar extractions, however, are relatively low risk procedures. To minimize risk, consider having the procedure done by the specialist with the most training and experience, a qualified Oral Surgeon. Ask your General Dentist for a referral.
