Infected Tooth: An infected tooth is a problem, whether you have pain or not. Shooting pain when eating on it... that's a problem, too. Not sure what your question is but one day when that tooth becomes unbearable painful, you'll wish you had taken care of it sooner. Please go see a dentist.

Shooting pain: Shooting pain when you bite on a tooth often indicates vertical fracture. Bacteria entering the tooth through the fracture have probably infected the nerve of the tooth, with infection spreading throughout your body. Please have a Dentist, preferably a root canal specialist Endodontist, evaluate and treat this tooth, now.
