Irregular bleeding ?: A "period" 18 weeks before uterine bleeding is probably indicative of no ovulation, and since the production of estrogen is not stopped even w/o ovulation, the uterine lining will break down and bleed. If you are not trying for pregnancy, ask your gyn physician about low dose oral bcp's, which provide safety against too much estrogen effect on the uterine lining. Otherwise, see a fertility doctor
