It would be : less expensive to see your PCP and obtain the order for outpatient xrays if your PCP feels they are necessary. However, most blunt injuries to the chest wall at your age do not fracture ribs. If you are not short of breath or have well localized sharp pain with inspiration or a small cough, you likely just contused your chest wall and didn't fracture anything.
